Monday Mrs. O

The President and First Lady boarded Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland today. The Obamas are headed to New York City for a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. For travel, Mrs. O wore a blue and aubergine print dress paired with a cropped cardigan. A layered necklace and structured handbag completed the look.

This appears to be the Reed Krakoff worn for the President's second official swearing-in-ceremony at the White House this January.

Simply striking and beautiful on her! May be my all-time favorite travel outfit on the First Lady. I really like the handbag and necklace. Enjoying the new look of her hair as well.

Beautiful.
The Obama diary has photos that shows the entire dress w/o the cardigan; superb!

I also got a glimpse of today's outfit! I'll need to see more of it in order to form an opinion.

Thanks for the heads up, SoccerNana. Those pictures of the first couple are lovely. The President is always looking at his wife, maybe he can't believe that he has an amazing woman but sometimes I find it hard to believe that she is the most amazing first lady that I have ever known in my lifetime.

You are welcome Jestina!
I saw the dress Mrs. O wore to the today! I love the "vintage" look of the navy and cream colors! This year, Mrs. O took the wives to Harlem for lunch!

@Jestina: They are just amazing together -- A loving, beautiful couple -- fiercely devoted to each other -- a deeply aware, conscious, inspiring, power couple -- Fantastic role models for young and old, married and single --
The world is lucky to have them --

And yes, she is the most amazing First Lady in my lifetime too -- but even better, she'll always be one of my all time favorite people ever --

She's absolutely magnificent--

She absolutely is SoccerNana, she absolutely is ---
And look what else I found--

This must have been taken at the reception the night before - the magazine has it captioned incorrectly--

This dress has a familiar feel to it; In some ways, a similar neckline to the Laura Smalls DNC convention dress -- and the bold florals and muted background of the Tracy Reese dress from a few weeks ago--

Thanks for the link Audrey. The dress is beautiful; it reminds me of the coat and dress ensemble Mrs. O wore to France; Mrs. Bruno had on a similar grey ensemble. That's probably why it looks familiar to you Audrey.
