Sporty O

Image by Charles Dharapak / AP Images

On Friday, Mrs. O held a "Let's Move!" street hockey event with the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions Chicago Blackhawks and area students on the South Lawn of the White House. For the appearance, the First Lady turned to a sporty zip jacket, statement necklace and slim black pants.

Update: Mrs. O wears a Rachel Roy Sable Leather Ribbed Knit Jacket, paired with a FALLON necklace.

Hidden Gems

This photo is a reminder of how many fabulous, private White House events and parties occur without public notice. It was taken at a White House Christmas party. The President and First Lady are joined by Lincoln Restler, State Committeeman for the 50th Assembly District in New York, and his campaign manager, Sarah Baker.

Of sartorial note, the first lady wears two layered Fallon necklaces, the Victoria Royal Bib and Victoria Comet Bib. We saw the former again this week for Mrs. O's Oprah appearance. The First Lady has always been quite progressive in her use of accessories. The layering of necklaces here is simply brilliant. Does anyone recognize the fabulous emerald dress?

Mrs. O and Oprah Unite

Mrs. O will join Tom Brokaw and Bob Woodward for Oprah's "The Bravest Families in America" episode, on air tomorrow. To read up on the episode, People.com has a post here.

While fashion is not the main focus tomorrow, Mrs. O's dress and necklace demand a quick mention. For the appearance, the First Lady recycles a purple wool crepe dress by Prabal Gurung, first seen on the campaign trail in October, here. Mrs. O paired her frock with a fabulous FALLON Victoria Royale necklace from Fall Winter 2010.

For those who use Twitter, there was a quite a bit of excitment between @PrabalGurung and @FentonFallon regarding the pairing. So much so that it prompted this article:
